 Taking down an old Sugar Maple the other day and found this.

 
This never would have happend at my house growing up. I was a tree rat sharp shooter.

  Think about how long that squirrel must have sat there before the tree grew in around him. He must have been really slow.

Did he get stuck in the tree and die that way?

 Looks that way. It obviously has been there a while, but he was all in tacted so I guess he just got stuck.

Over the years I have found numbers of racoons dead where they stuck there head into a peanut butter jar and couldn't get it off. Sure would be a heck of a way to die.
