I like this one.  http://www.amickssuperstore.com/DTI_2_Cycle_Two_Stroke_Tachometer_Tach_p/dti%20tech-tach%20tt-20k%20tach.htm

Then you got guys that like the Tiny for size. Same thing basically just smaller.   http://www.amickssuperstore.com/DTI_2_Cycle_Two_Stroke_Tachometer_Fast_Tach_p/dti%20fast-tach.htm

See they are selling the    OPPAMA PET-1100 Tachometer  maker of the older stihl EDT-5  http://www.amickssuperstore.com/OPPAMA_PET_1100_Tachometer_p/oppama%20pet-1100%20tach.htm  I have this one in stihls name edt-5 and love it and would buy again too.

This one does for sure  OPPAMA PET-1100 Tachometer  and this ones says 2 and 4 DTI TECH-TACH TT-20K TACH, the Tiny Tach says it does all that TT-20K does.   ;)

Cut is right on!  These should do what you want.  I have TT DTI-20K $90 or so.  Real happy with it.  IMO is the best buy in a good tach.  Like Cut I have an EDT-5 too.  Like it real well too.  Use whichever one the hand finds.

Lots & Lots of Saws

Well I just ordered the Tech Tach,  Edge and Engine Recommended it over the Fast Tach.

Lots & Lots of Saws

Digital Tachs are a bit difficult to come by here.
I had a Stihl EDT6 which I dropped and damaged the display.
I had got so used to it with is multi-mode selection and fast refresh rate.
Fortunately I was able to pick up an identical Pulse Tach

I dont care much for the newer Stihl tachs with their slower refresh rates.
But the newer ignitions will be a problem, the 3 pole types.
I just faced that issue for the first time today.
I was trying to adjust the carb of a MS461 using the Pulse.
I found that the rpm displayed above 10000 was not correct.
It showed 1200, 5000, 8000.... all these while the saw was at full revs.
Normally I get accurate readings, but not with the MS461, it has a 3 pole module, I think.

Hoping the Tach I ordered will cover everything I get.

Don't assume the tach is wrong!! the new ignition modules have a very coplex ignition cut out built into them. It preforms a mathmatical caculation and starts skipping firing impulses giving you the crazy read out on the tach. You need to know where the rev limiter cuts in and tune ( I use 200 rpm ) below that number. Old school tuners that continue to lean the saw out for more RPM are going to be very unhappy with the performance of their "hot set up".
