POSTON WIDEHEAD

I had a member ask me if I knew where they could find a pic of a log to lumber diagram.
I have been ask by 2 different customers in the past where they could get a diagram. They don't have a "puter".
Well....I googled it and guess what....google sent me to the Forestry Forum.

About 2 years ago, Jeff posted this pic and I think it's the best one I've seen yet. I've seen a lot of diagrams but as they say, "This one is suitable for framing".  :D It shows lumber suitable for "framing" also.  :D :D (get it? )

I think I'm gonna print, frame and hang it down by the mill.

Just thought I would repost the pic for others also. GREAT PIC Jeff!

David,

This post and your success in finally finding what you were looking for right here on the Forestry Forum demonstrates what a rich rersource we have.  The FF search button works amazingly well.  If it's FF related type materials, ask here and chances are that you will receive.  Our history is rich indeed.  That is one of the reason that Jeff insists that all photos be stored in the FF Gallery.

Thanks, David, for bringing this picture to the surface once again.

Believe it or not, this is me in my avatar......with my FF hat on.  I have a MAC computer with a photo booth on it. I can change my face all sort of ways. This is what I would look like if I were a Alien.  :D

Below is what they call 'THE BEAVER SHOT" . (please, no jokes from the nickel seats)

It makes your face look like a beaver.

Now with my Avatar being explained, hope ya'll can use Jeff's pic of the "LOGS TO LUMBER".  :)

Magic, you can find something faster with a search button than David Copperfield can make a plane disappear.  :D

I think a swingblade mill would work much better than a band mill for cutting a log up like that one. I'd hate to try it with a manual band mill.   :o
