Fairly often posts on the FF show evidence that  the "send" button was utilized before some meager proof reading was performed.  Many times the posts seem  that they would not come near to the intent of the poster.  I would suggest that all posters take a moment to do a little proof reading before hitting the "send" button. Sometimes they seem to say the exact opposite of one's intent apparently due to failing to look one's post over before bashing the "send" button.  Examples are prevalent.  It really leaves the intent of some posts up to the judgment of the reader.  Take an extra moment and make our reading easier.  Thanks.

Proof reading might help a little.  Psychology tests have shown that people see what they expect to see when they read.
Not that it isn't a good idea to reread what is written to make sure it conveys the "right" message. Then hit the post button.

I often go back into my posts and read and reread them, then make modifications if necessary.

I do understand your concern though.  Some posts do leave a little doubt.

I realize that my tongue keys get twisted up sometimes and I get stuff backwards, so I just blame it on birthdays.   That being said, writing is communicating.  It is the responsibility of the communicator to insure that what is written is easily read and understood by the readers.  Paragraphs denoting different trains of thought are important.

The "Preview" button is an important tool, especially when using  "Quote" and "Emoticons".  It will show when you have inserted your post within the quote, or failed to add a space to separate emoticons from punctuations.

Just click Preview and scroll up to read your post as others will see it.  You may be surprised, and you may go back and change something.  (I did, a couple of times writing this.)   :)

I wonder if it is the exactness of our writing, or the fact that we have joined in civilized conversation?  One must decide the importance of the situation.

I would think that most folks would know what word they were trying to type.

Whats really bad is when the spell check has no idea of what I was trying to spell.    :D :D :D

Yup, it's bad when you have to misspell it several different ways before spell check figures out what word you are trying to use.   :-\

I suppose it just depends on how you look at things.

No doubt most people type like me,one finger at a time. It's pretty easy to transpose too,for two or to.Thinking one thing but typing another, easy enough to do .

I don't think anybody does it on purpose though.

No punctuation, capitalization, or use of paragraphs is very difficult to read and understand. I end up just skipping the post.

My mother in law speaks that way. It's one loooong run on sentence. I've learned to tune her out, too.

I have a google window in the upper right corner that I use when in doubt on spelling a word. Just type or copy the word in there and a number of choices pop up. Usually will adjust to the one I'm looking for, or I will spot it there.
I am guessing the way some folks pronounce words will cause them to spell them as they sound.

One that pops up seemingly often is "sale". Used in a sentence like "I am going to sale an item". For me it should be "sell" but then I may have it wrong.  ::) ::)  Am thinking some other words may be the same, or are abreviated (whoops) abbreviated.
"to" and "too" are good ones to confuse. "then" and "than" are tough ones for some folk.

All in fun. I wouldn't mind someone pointing out an error, but don't think most would like that.

Punctuation in a sentence, with a 'comma' to separate words and phrases that go together is helpful.
Paragraphs with no periods or cap letters separating sentences are hard to read to get the true meaning of a post.

Tom had some interesting thoughts and feelings about punctuation too.  Not too many of the ......... for pauses and in place of period-space-Cap letter seemed pet peeves for him. I thought it conveyed a persons thoughts and ramblings.  Another one for Tom was the Yooper talk. Seemed that would get a burr under his saddle.  :D  Tom was a detail person. IMO

I appreciate the hard work my teachers had to go through to get some of these things knocked into my head.
