Want to add a Husky XP Saw, Which would be a nice addition to my Current Saws?

Current are Husky 450 18 In, Husky 55 Rancher 18 In, and a stihl 009 14 Inch bar,

I am thinking of a 346 XP people seem to really like that saw, but is it much different then what I have now?
For Limbing I have the 009 or the 450, when I fell trees I use either the 55 or the 450 now, and for cutting up fire wood I use which ever depending on the size of the wood.

I am not going to drop a tree bigger then 18 to 20 Inch in Dia, But My buddies do drop ones bigger then that on my property for them or for me and I do cut them up once they are down. I do not have a need for a bar longer then 20 IN. I am looking for a saw to run a 18 or 20 In bar.

Thanks

You wanting another saw just to have, or do you need one?  If you want an XP, get a 575 and run the shorter (20") bar on it, it will cut like crazy.

I'd find a good used 371 or 372 xp or buy one new.You have smaller saws, why no go to the next level. It will cut like a champ w/ a 20" b&c.

From the fact that you are considering a 346xp, I'm assuming you want to stick with smaller saws.

A couple if the Husky line you may want to check out are the 555 and the 562 XP (The 555 is not advertised as an "xp" saw, but it does have pro-type construction.)  I've only used each one of these two once, but I thought they were impressive saws.  Both are relatively new models, so you may want to check with others on here to see if they are having any "teething pains".

The 562xp is basically billed as the replacement for the 357xp.  From videos I've seen, both the 562 and the 555 will out-cut a 357.

I was thinking about the 346 XP because everyone seems to talk so highly of them, but from what I can see it's prob not that much different then from what I am running now.

The saws I have now get the job done, But I am sure I can get it done better, I am always looking for a new tool/toy.

I see that On Huskys website they have Pro Saws that don't say XP what is the difference in their lines?

I also see they have different Sub models auto tune G W and so on.

The 562 Xp seems to be a nicesaw and I like the white and orange mix.

359,555,365 seem like decent saws also, What are the main Differences between those 4 saws?

It really will depend on how much you want to spend.  If money is of no matter then 562 would be a nice choice, I've looked them over in the store and they do look pretty sweet. 372 is also really popular, plenty of guys here will vouch for them. Also the new 365 has the same displacement as the 372 now, just detuned a bit. I personally prefer Stihl, but that is strictly preference with no reason for bias either way. In any case, a really good 60-70 cc saw would probably work well. As for the different suffixes, G denotes heated handles, and W denotes a wrap handle. Auto tune is Huskys version of an electronic fuel system that automatically adjusts the fuel mixture constantly per the usage and operating conditions.  ;D

Oh, and if you're digging the orange and white you may be more of a Stihl guy too, that 562 is orange and silver if I remember right.  ;)

That's a good saw, JoeG. 346 or a 562 xp you're gonna be happy. They are sure light for that much power. My Stihl MS261 and that 346 XP are neck and neck. Get a 346, Joe then you and me can compare notes.

Jethro: Don't look at me Uncle Jed. I didn't take it.

I was thinking 346 But Not sure how much of a difference it is compared to my other saws.

Tested out a 562 XP, It was running a 18 Inch bar and a Oregon Chain unsure what model, Man this thing was light, smooth easy to start and cut though Oak and maple like well I guess you can say Butter. it just cut right though like the wood was paper, I am Going to be adding one of these to my collection in the near future, Ill Prob throw a 20 Inch bar on it.

It is just hard to believe that Chainsaws can be so different.

And Joe, the difference is mostly in a sharp chain. They all will cut like "butter" if the chain is sharp.
