logging in the 60s

This pic reminds me of back in the 60s when we were still strip cutting. Dad was skidding with a cat pulling a knuckle boom dray. The logging job looked so clean, just like in this pic. It wouldn't look like that decking tree length with a pole skidder. I started pole skidding in 68, i had been strip cutting for 8 yrs. Its hard to explain but what a different ball game. I was used to hand piling wood all day with a pick axe.



 
Third generation logger, owner operator, 30 yrs felling experience with pole skidder. I got my neck broke back in 89, left me a quad. The wife kept the job going up to 96.
