Just recently ran across this
NOTICE OF SETTLEMENT: For Qualifying Owners of Property on Which Certain Organic Asphalt Shingles Manufactured by CertainTeed Corporation Are or Have Been Installed.

Apparently these shingles are not lasting anywhere near their 30 year warranty, and the Corp is settling claims for a short while yet.

I learned about it when we were trying to match the Certainteed shingles on our Town Hall to put on our new shelter. A roofer said you had better get a claim in soon as those were bad shingles. On about 10 years and already all the grit was gone when we looked close at them.

Just a heads up.

??? So are inorganic roofing shingles the answer?

Wouldn't wooden shingles qualify as organic shingles?
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Went up to Granville, NY, last night to pick up four square of slate. I think that is organic. :D

Slate may be natural, but it is definitely inorganic ;D.
