It's always good to have a boy helping with the work. Good for the boy, good for the man.

Treefarmer thanks for the pictures.

My boys loved to go to work with me, tf87 thats nice of you to spend the time with him, its something he'll never forget.

I always had a couple old saws they could take apart.

That C5 you had must have been plum wore out.

Does seem odd to see a small truck now a days.Glad to see the small guy going. When I was growing up many hauled pulpwood in a single axle dump truck with wooden stakes. Most trucks,if not all trucks in my area are dual wheels that can haul at least 10 cord and they are getting kinda few of them now. Most now are trailers. I can remember a few of the trucks that had wooden stacks and sides too. Now they run just a single metal stakes. Probaly the DOT had a lot to do with the wooded stacks.

The small trucks seem to be the thing down south! When i worked in Burning Springs West Virgina in 1998 i took a 240 TJ and my 1996 freightliner tri axle down with me. The guy cutting on the same road had 2 518 cat skidders , a treelenghth loader and 2 single axle international trucks that hauled 3  cord or so. The trucks made 3 trips a day each. seemed to be a costly way to haul wood.

Would be a lot easier with a tractor trailer making 2 trips.

The single axle truck or what we called a Bobtail was out of here in the 50's.

Yes a bigger truck is nice . But its alot more $$ to own and maintain one . If a guy has the timber and the market thats great . I imagine TF will move up  as it looks like C6 is really snortin in the wood . .

Looks good.

Never seen a small truck like that UP here. Some "small" Wisconsin trucks around that can haul 10 or so cord but most everything is a "Michigan double" hauling 21 or so cords at a time.

treefarmer87

Tramp they usually go for tie logs. There are alot of single axle trucks around here some even run 1 tons! i would like a newer international 4900 tandem with  a DT 530
