Walnut seedlings

We planted 11 walnut seedlings a couple of weekends ago on the woodlot. We thought we would replace some of the trees we cut for firewood. We'll never really get to see them get big but someone hopefully will.

I planted some actual walnuts last fall, they seem to be sprouting ok but don't have any seedlings yet, and like you I'll never see them very big but hopefully one day my daughters will  .

Last year I moved a Walnut a squirrel had 'planted'.   It is doing good. I had to put a cage around it as some animal was nipping on it.
