We had a big fiasco a couple years back, there were some big tracks found on a local forest road, they made plaster casts and pretty soon Bigfoot Inc. was on site and he was able to verify that we had an authentic bigfoot ::) It was callex the Six Mile bigfoot after the name of the forest road. I Always figured it was one of the plus sized gals from the local village running around barefoot :) Now a local signed on as the Mn representitive of Bigfoot Inc. Glad we'll have local representation...

There was a gentleman who attended our church-- a nice guy, I knew him a little-- he was shy and quiet, but anyway, he had shaggy hair, glasses, a kind of comical nose, and a long beard-- like maybe 12 inches or so. He was also skinny and angular in build. My young son saw him in church, pointed, and said, "a monkey!"

Holy Crap!! :D Can I say that?  I cannot believe Burlkraft did not weigh in on this post.  Has he never admitted to anyone that his stepson is majoring in Anthropology at UW Madison for the purpose of studying BigFoot?!?!? ??? ???  Chase(my son, his stepson) has believed in Sasquatch since about 5 yrs of age-he is nearly 23.  He graduates in May and his dream is to either do grad work under a BigFoot specialist at Idaho State or work in the Cryptozoology museum in Portland, Maine. :o :o :o :o :o  Being the supportive mother I am, I took him and five of his friends to Oklahoma when he was 15 on a BigFoot search.  He had seen a special about how many times BF was spotted in the hills there and heard the locals testifying to that fact.  The locals we spoke to do indeed believe in BigFoot :) :) :) :)--so, YES he is real. :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

Ya mean real like Santa Claus?
If we believe in Santa Claus, yes SC is real - so BF could be just as real in the mind.  ;)

I believe there is a possibility BF exists. I also think it's somewhat possible that somewhere on the planet, dinosaurs could still be alive. But neither has been empirically proven beyond all doubt and brought out into public for the skeptics to view with their own eyes.

Well, I for one think that they're real,,and do in fact exist. The indians told of them,,too many almost sightings by reasonably reputable people. My guess is they're smarter than we think,,n just want left alone.
Also believe in ufos,, n dont think we're alone here

We call the big hairy fella's "Yowies" down here. A guy at work and his son in law go Yowi searching, :) they say they find hair and nests/beds, trees rubbed at unusal heights etc, I get a chuckle out of it, especially when they reported sighting one on the river out the back of our farm. :D :D My son has camped out there all night fishing regularly on his own since he was 13yrs old, its rough heavily timbered country but he's never seen anything out of the norm. I just think there would be tangible evidence by now if they did exist.

Wood-Mizer needs to make sure I have more time allotted to perusing the forum so that I don't miss posts like this one!  :D

I actually have something to add. A couple years before I began working for WM, I was running a local video production business on the Olympic Peninsula in WA. One day, I got a call from a producer for an upcoming show hosted by Bob Saget, called "Strange Days". The show was going to highlight several unusual cultures and groups of people in the US, such as Biker gangs, the Amish, and yes, the Indians in Washington who have maintained legends of Sasquatch.

What they needed from me was to drive to this tribe who lived on the sparsely populated west side of the peninsula, and film some 'pre-interviews' with 5-6 local eyewitnesses. Also, I was to visit the locations where people most often sighted him. Intrigued, I accepted the gig.

When I arrived and shot the interviews, I was surprised at the sincerity and lack of exaggeration in the accounts I heard. Not one story was exactly the same, but they all shared similar descriptions of the creature: the distinctive smell (those who got close enough to it), the long golden fur, the uprightness of his walk, etc. One lady was a regular 'soccer mom' who had seen the creature walk across the road about 10 years back. One guy had seen it while chopping firewood. One lady saw a baby sasquatch on the bridge coming into town. None of them claimed to have seen the creature more than once, but they all claimed to have seen it clearly and in broad daylight. All the older ones shared how their parents and grandparents warned them of Sasquatch in the night. They all shared how many fisherman who ventured too far upriver were hailed with stones from high above them - apparently Big Foot likes his privacy.

The curator of the local museum had seen one down at the abandoned National Guard station. She took me down there and showed me where she saw him. I caught everything on film that I could, and sent it back to the producer in LA. Bob Saget came up about 6 weeks later and they filmed the show. Still haven't seen how the show turned out...

Am I a believer? Can't say. It was a truly unique experience that gave me some things to think about. On the other side of the world, my father-in-law grew up as a missionary in northern Burma. One of the local tribal hunters, and a good friend of his, claimed to have stalked and shot at a Yeti in the mountains... His description of the Yeti was remarkably like the accounts I filmed.

Ok... now I got to get back to work  :D

In this day and age when virtually everyone is carrying a camera, it is not unreasonable to expect a picture of a sighting, if there really is a sighting.  I would be seriously against someone shooting or harming one just to prove their existence.
