Well I have always wanted to play guitar, when I was younger I didn't have the patience or time(I was always working). So, since being laid off at the end of last year, and the BIG news I was offered and have accepted a job with a municipality highway crew so I will have plenty of time to learn a new skill. I have been practicing the last couple days, when the dogs see me with the guitar, they leave the living room and head to a back bedroom, so I guess when they stay in the same room with me I'll know I'm getting better.

That's awesome Kevin! I belong to a site called Jamplay where I take online lessons. Not sure of what genre you enjoy but they cover almost every one. If I remember right they have a free one week trial.

I keep the dog in her kennel when I play, we're both happier for it.  :D

Thanks Norm. I'll check it out.

I've always wished that I had the patience for it, but never have. :(
Good luck to you and congrats on the job.

Kevin, I hate to break your bubble but it ain't gonna get any better. I've played guitar since 1960. Played and sang in bands from 1962 through about 1976. My arthritis in my hands have made me not pick up the guitar much anymore but back in the 1970s and 1980s when I would play my guitar and sing in a room at my home, the door would usually get shut. Once, my dog even got up and left the room.  ;D  People just don't appreciate raw talent. :)

I go out on the deck to play my dulcimer, guitar or mandolin.  The dogs are in a pen so I feel I have a captured audience.  :D :D :D

Charlie sorry you had to give it up, I envy you though I wish I would have learned it when I was younger. As for the dogs, they have me trained pretty well, so if my playing becomes to bothersome I will go to the shed to practice.  smiley_headscratch
