You have some nice stuff Jeff. Fireplace crystals. I have something like that, not old, and I was throwing some in every time one of my friends would walk by the fireplace. Told his Grand Daughter he must be special because every time he walked by the fire it would change colors.

Folding Maple Syrup Pan Tester

I've been informed that this item is probably not a syrup thermometer, but an "oven thermometer or the like" according to the patent found here:
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/2329685.pdf

I was going on what I was told by the old feller I bought it from as a garage sale. It came with about a dozen spiels strung on a wire. If the auction does not get any more bids, and the winner wants to, they can cancel the auction, or they can still get a neat old thermometer. :)

Jeff,

The H.D. Campbell Co. in Rochelle Il is still in business. I tried to contact one of the sales reps through some online networking site, but I haven't heard back from them.  They do have a phone number listed, but I did not call them.  Somebody from that company might be interested in owning this piece of their past.  Do you think it worth your time to contact them?...or let sleeping dogs lie?

4 new support auctions added tonight.  2 are a bit of a different flavor. An old brass carbide mining lamp and a very collectable antique coleman fuel measuring tin.  The other two auctions are a windup metal toy log truck made in the USA and a Folk Art wooden display of two guys running a crosscut saw. The display base is almost two feet wide.

Jeff you have some nice thing for auction on here. Wish I had the money for some. Im sure my wife would like to see that bed frame you made on here. Then she would make me work harder to get it.  :D

Jeff

No way the bed will go on here, as that belongs to Tammy, and I'm betting she won't give it up. :)

I wonder what he is up to.
It's funny today I was thinking of the guy from Gustafson.
He had signed up on the Forum and posted a couple times.
That was a good outfit.

Jeff

That was Darrel. I still have my Gustafson Logging hat and I'll keep it because I wore/wear it. :)

They were only there the first year, and I think they quickly recognized what that show truly was.

Gustafson seemed like a good outfit. Melvin was OK too,but a small time guy trying to make money with old equipment and jobs nobody else wanted.

Two new Aucion items added

First a copy of Timber Framing Fundamentals, donated by Jim Rogers for the Auctions. Jim was a contributor to content and signed this edition on the section that he wrote.

Second is a large old, what I call a T-Auger. Not sure of the proper name, but was told by the previous owner it was used in building barns around Michigan.

Don't worry! You'll be told! :D
Thirty plus years in the sawmill/millwork business. A sore back and arthritic fingers to prove it!

Jeff

Not sure whether to keep listing some things or not. Looks like interest is dropping off a bunch. Remember, this is a great way to support the forum and pick up a cool auction item at the same time. You might even find something you can gift to someone you know that collects or uses.

New item tonight is something the oilcan and gas station guys will like, Its called a Piggy Back Oiler and it comes with and attached to a very collectable Three Brothers Cream Separator oil can.
