Hi all,

i am looking for a fuel tank for a stihl 066 redeye from around 1993.
Partnumber 1122 350 0816 . My local stihl dealer says they can't repair it
because the fuel tank they can get from stihl is not compatible with my
chainsaw. The necessary parts to adjust the newer tank to fit on my
machine are also not available anymore. Does anybody have any idea where
i could get ahold of this ?
I really wanna repair it because it is such a great machine .

Kind regards

It depends on how bad your tank is messed up I have fixed some big tank cracks with JB weld .

KahNon,

The current Stihl parts catalog shows that tank housing #1122 350 0816  is very much available. It looks common for the 066 and MS640.
Strange that it shows as available in India but not to your local dealer in Belgium.

I repaired fuel tanks with Epoxy or J-B Weld.
Third generation logger, owner operator, 30 yrs felling experience with pole skidder. I got my neck broke back in 89, left me a quad. The wife kept the job going up to 96.

I too use epoxy but I apply it on a piece of cloth and use the cloth as a repair patch. If the leak is big I repeat the process with another patch, after the first one sets. I did try glass wool pulled out of an old refrigerator. It was too messy. So I reverted back to the cloth patch. It is the neatest.
