Hello All: Hope each of you had a GREAT  Thanksgiving,
My Question is,I have a 20 ton log splitter that the motor is shot(6 hp brigs),Would a 5 h.p. Honda be bigger enough.I have found one on CL,Also what would be the right size motor for the log splitter?
     Thanks Mark,,,,,,,,,,

I had  a five hp briggs on a 22 ton mtd. worked fine. That honda oughta do fine. I recently ordered a new 22 ton Iron & Oak that is coming with a 5.5 honda.

The Honda will work just fine. Make sure the shafts are properly aligned and that there is a bit of clearance for the coupling spider.

I have a 20 ton with a 5.5 honda         I could be wrong but it helps having a two stage pump (which mine has two stage 11GPM pump)       to get through those tough pieces that will kill your motor instantly having a single stage pump
