Question for Forester in PNW

I have a hardwood book but still unsure about Oak Id. This Oak had leaves more like maple and smooth bark book dont show good enough pic or I am too dence to comprehend difference in White Oak and California Black oak Thanks Brian

An oak that looks like a maple doesn't ring any bells with me, but since there aren't many native oaks out here it may well have been planted.  Don't know if this link will help at all, but it may be a start.

Their location data isn't perfect, but usually not too bad.
