Mx34 band wheel play

Quick ? for the experts we have the mill for about a year and when changing band bands the other day seemed like excess play in the bearings collars were snug to the wheel. They are greased before every use how much play is acceptable they run needle bearings should we change out.
Any other owners having trouble with getting the brake band to work properly with out getting belt hop or belt burn
