Thinking about buying a new smaller saw. My old 272 has seen better days. We no longer have a Husky dealer that stocks parts or works on saws, kinda lets them out. Have a guy up the road that has been in business a couple of years, sells efco saws. I have been reading about the 156 and 165. Just wanted to see what everybody thinks of them before I start looking seriously. Logging has been in the toilet around here lately, so, there are not that many new saws out there to asked the owners about.

Both are good dependable well built saws 165 48mm 156 46mm. However, the 156 is the better of the two IMO.  156 is lighter w/almost same power.  If you can find one a 162/962 or John Deere CS62 48mm makes a lot more power than the 165 48mm.
I have 156 and 165 looking for 162/962/CS62.

I have a few Efco's. I like the 962 best. The 165 shares cylinders with the 963 cutoff saw. Tough, but not a performance leader. I like the 980 also. New MT 7200, 8200 have nicer features than older models. 152 is nice also.

Get your wood block into Jeff for a chance to win that 152 efco. ;)
