Does anyone know how much hydro oil a 1999 hood s-182 holds and if the tank behind the cab is an expansion tank?  my gage for the oil is working and said 3/4 full so I put 20gal. in it and it brought it up to full but the tank behind the cab is dry.

your loader has 2 hydraulic tanks and a guage? mine is a 1993 and only has the tank behind the cab with no gauge, sight glass or sight tube. no idea how much it holds though.  http://www.hoodloaders.com/products.htm

The spec. sheet on that link says it has a "combination hydraulic & fuel tank".
Maybe the other tank is yer fuel tank?

No the fuel tank is below the steps next to the cab.  The smaller tank has a large 3.5" suction line running down to the larger tank where the fuel tank is on the older 24000 series loaders.
