What year is yours? Does it have 353 power? On the Garrett produced Tree Farmers, they put the model number and SN on the frame rail near the battery location on the front left side of the machine.  Maybe CanCar did the same?  What winchdrum do you have on it?  If it is a Gearmatic 8A, my bet would be a C4, if it has a 9, 19, or 119, I would bet a C5, but if it is a C5 I would think it would have a bigger engine than a 353.

so its a TF C4.5? :D

ga jones

your machine is a c4.  the ways to tell are 8 lug axles square hood round tube arch round tube rops. can-car serial number plate is under the clutch master cyl. on the left side.it is useless... some c4s came with a flat plate arch but not c5s. also look at how the front blade is mounted and shaped the c5 was heavier and gusseted different. In 40+ years things could have been modified but yours looks pretty standard.

I'd put my money on your machine being a C4.  The C5's are quite a bit larger in comparison, and I have never seen a '5 with anything smaller than close to 100HP or more for power, and the tires on most C5's I have been around were 23" or larger (wide).  The 8 bolt lug is a dead ringer though, like ga jones stated, the 5's had more studs on the wheel lugs.

treefarmer87 yours is a C4, in the late 60's they built what was called the pulpwood special, this is a C4 frame, C4 axles [ 8 lug] and put a Gearmatic 19 winch and a 353 Detroit in it.
