i finally found the skidder i want :) it has new 28Ls 8). im going to try to look at it this week hopefully. the real estate place keep pushing the date back for the wife to get her money for the house she sold :( i hope itsstill for sale in the first week of july. it looks like a decent machine.

nothing wrong with a franklin tough as nails spend many a day runnin them my dad owned several a 100 , 132 , 170 ,another 170, and a 560 I cant remember any ofem being trouble makers I also ran a 132 pack a back in west virginia scary stuff another thing is the franklin is a very stable machine looks like a good price good luck hope you get it  8)

The only two cents I will add is look over the arms on the blade it looks pretty light steel to me and may be weld up a few times. Also rock the steering wheel back and forth and see if the steering bussings on the steering cylinders are oveled out. Aslo put the blade down as far as it will go and then hop out of the cab and see  if the bushing are tight or worn bad it will have a slight arch in it if there sloopy About the only thing that is the same between my C7 is the arch and grapple. Good luck , I am sure theres other fellows on here that can give you some ideas where to look also for problems

somthing to keep in mind franklin parts are getting harder to get. I dont know of any specialized franklin shops like davco .Theres a franklin winch on my c4 and i cant get a lot of the franklin specific parts.you should be ok as long theres not a lot of franklin specific parts on it.

thanks autocar :) ga jones there is a dealer about 60 mi from my house that can get any part i need for my equipment. im glad for that :)
