I'am slabing some old growth redwood stumps with my Alaskan mill and the chain gets clogged up and stops. Saw shop said to thin out my bar oil with deisel fuel. any other ideas ?
Thanks  Peder

Canola Oil. Turn up the oiler and saw away. Cheaper than bar oil and every bit as effective at doing the job.

You could try winter weight bar oil also.

With all the detergents in ATF I bet that works out pretty well.

But boy that stuff is smelly!

Yes it did,  :)  chain was nice and clean, but kinda left some blackend spots on the wood tho :(   not shure if i would recomend it for ripping.    they were 12-14 in dia logs.   Not shure where they are right now,  prob burried in a pile in the yard here, or i sold them.
