The boys are already getting bored and summer is only one week old. ::)

Today, I knocked together these little bird feeders from the cedar scrap pile.  Cedar is just one of those woods that I can't throw out - regardless of how small the piece.  Now that I know how it goes together, I'll get the boys out there making a run of them.  Maybe we'll visit the Saturday morning junk sale,  err... I mean flea market and see if we can scratch out a few bucks. :)

Sounds like a really fun summertime project for the boys (and you).

I gave my elderly neighbor all my cedar scraps.  He built a bunch of birdhouses and feeders to supplement his SS.  This would be the tail end of birdhouse season and he would be starting on feeders now.

That's an interesting little house in the background of your last picture.  Did Daniel Boone sleep in it?

Not Daniel Boone, but the boys do now that summer's here. :)

Right now, though, they have been evicted by a momma bird...

In the last picture the camera angle makes it look like there is grass growing out the bottom of the feeder. Nice project for you and the boys.

Congratulations on the project.  You are right about the cedar scrap pile.  So it also goes for Walnut and Cherry.   ;D

Gooood project.   (the little house has weathered in nicely)   :)
