Bought a mid 80's 440C last fall that I have yet to see in person. I'm heading up to AK mid June to do some work on it prior to commercial fishing season. The batteries go in the cowl just aft of the engine. My manual doesn't specify what size the two batteries are that fit into this compartment. Can someone give me the group size for this application?

Thanks

groupe 27 with 1000 amps per battery!! if you can get the 1100 ampers go this way , its a bit more money but well worth the extra power on bone cold mornings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  interstate or exide farm rated batteries are heavy and solid......
