Those side pieces cry out for a gang rip saw and then a resaw to get all the pallet boards out of them.

That could make some neat siding for a small building, like an outhouse or toolshed or something.

WB, that a perfect part a swing mill.

I haven' tried this yet but I was considering using your split post idea to make beams.  Setting up so the wheels are on the left of my mill, which would allow for the setup of two log positions.  Left side log on wheels, right side log on mill frame and clamps.  Making the first two cuts there, using the wheels to rotate the log to 90 degrees, then set the 1/2 beam on the bed and make the last two side from there.  Should be a lot easier to make the big beams that way.

Yeah, WB, large beams or just making a cant for latter milling.

The largest I have made with the band saw was 6X24X25'.  The new frame will make ones up to 38'.   I did receive a call from a boat wright who wanted to have a mast cut but that was a 100 footer.  I heard later that when they were moving the mast and going around a street corner the mast wiped out all the stuff on the corner.

Is this the same load that gave you the extra workout?  ;)  Looks like it would be quite the rodeo on a rough road. :D
