2nd Annual Southern Utah Biomass Field Day

We are holding an equipment demonstration field day in Southern Utah June 3 & 4, 2011.  The field day is definitely a grassroots driven event, with the focus to find and create markets for Pinyon/Juniper forest in the Western United States.  Harvesting, handling and processing equipment will be demonstrated live in a field setting.  Along with in the field demonstration, leading experts in the biomass and forestry field will be speaking during lunches and at an evening meal.  We are also trying to get different biomass utilization companies to attend and demonstrate.  Recently, the Forest Service received a grant to conduct field trials of equipment specializing in Pinyon/Juniper forest treatments.  This equipment will be demonstrating at the field day.  University of Montana is bringing a portable biomass gassifier (BioMax).  A private company will be demonstrating how biomass can be used in erosion socks.  The event is open for all companies/organizations that are interested in finding solutions.  More information on the field day can be found at www.utahbiomass.com
