How many logs can you see here?

There are about 30 nice walnut logs hidden in the weeds.

This is Bob and Allen. Allen owns the logs. He had them cut by a logger. The logger took out two loads and never came for the rest. I'm sawing on a 50/50 deal. Allen doesn't really want anything exept a chair and a table afterwards. The logger already paid for the logs but broke his contract b y not taking them or doing the clean up called for in the contract. What a mistake on his part. there are some really nice logs in the weeds.

Some more logs we stacked ready for milling.

Some of what we milled so far. Just a fraction of what is there. I rough estimated about 6000bf

That was a nice score there LeeB.  That just goes to show you the mentality of the logger.  He probably took all the high graded stuff and left the rest.  It just pithes me off when I see and hear about stuff like this.  Far too many people waste good resources like this and it gives the rest of us, that try to do the best job we can, a bad name.

I'm over $1000 and a year into figuring out how to make "just a nice bowl"  in exchange for removing a cherry tree a while back.  Glad I don't mind it.   :D :D :D   Oh and a broken toe from throwing the firewood over a stone wall after dark.   ::) ::)   Good Luck!!!!! 8) 8)

ps let him pick out any table and chair from the IKEA catalog

I don't know if the logs taken out were the high grade logs or not, but if they were they were really good logs. The stuff left behind are mostly grade logs, some of them very nice and up to 26-28". Average size is 14-18".

Looks like a nice bunch of logs Lee!

Sometimes we just "luck" into things like that!
