This is my third year with the e-classic 2300. For two years I had this awful banging noise -- thought to be water hammer. Long story short, My problem was not enough pressure on each of my five zone valves. Solution was to install a seperate heat exchanger to isolate my oil furnace from my e-classic. The original setup tied into the heat exchanger on my system 2000 oil furnace. My inital post was unclear, hope this makes more sense. System works fine now without the banging noise. Hope this is helpful.

Now you have 5 heat exchangers?  Wow
