I am posting for a friend who has a question about a winch (hercules) on a Timberjack skidder.
I looked through the old posts and none of the replys seem to fit the bill. The cable spools out ok, when loaded it will cable and suddenly stop. It will draw the load in but stops when the load begins to lift.
Any ideas?
Where would we find schematics? Jake started to remove a side plate but stopped as it seemed to be under pressure. Any dangerous springs in there?
I will try to get model numbers.

Thank you. David and Jake too

We searched out Cam Harding at Northern Timberjack. He is the most excellent accommodating person and so is the receptionist.

The problem is we need a new clutch. He is going to fax some lists and diagrams.
Thank you all.

You better look at your clutch discs when you get them out and see if there is any oil soaked into them causing it to slip.I think there is an updated seal system for the clutch apply hydraulic cylinder on the older Timberjacks.
