Hi,

I have a JD 690B excavator and one track does not stay as tight as long as it should and that might be another issue, but I am supposed to tension it so there is between 2.5 and 4 inches of slack.  What range would you folks tension in hot, warm cool and cold weather?

Thanks.

if the track dosent stay tight could be adjuster seals or adjuster tube is worn lettig the greese past the seal........tension depends on how much mud builds up ......do you run it in winter?

i like to keep it handy for brush burning, snow removing and dump truck retreival in the winter.  I think the seals are blown.
