I have a 1988 4000 I have used since new to cut oak sawlogs and firewood. The only maintenance it has had is chains, spark plugs and fuel filters. Do you know if the engine on the 4000 is the same as any of the older husky models?

Interesting. Thank you.

Could you be thinking of the Poulan Pro model 325?  It was a rebadged Partner 5000.  There was also another Poulan Pro model that was made by Jonsered but Im not sure which one.  Both Partner and Jonsered ended up with Husky didnt they?  I think there was a couple of the later regular green Poulans which were made by Dolmar too.  I think one was the Poulan 5500 which was a Dolmar 144.

The Poulan Pro 325 is not a rebadged Partner 5000. I own both  ;).  The PP 325 is made by Partner and is 53cc 46mm top end. The Partner 5000 is 44mm bore 49cc. Carbs are totally different as is choke set up. Similar but not the same at all. It is more like the Partner 5500 or 540 both 53cc  ;D.
