For those of you interested in saving some money on a solar hot water system and reducing your energy costs for heating water, thought you might like this system I built using mostly local bought materials. The circulator pump and 300' hot water PEX tubing (used as heat exchanger)was bought on line and shipped in. Total cost of the system was about $1200.00 and in 1 1/2 years of use it is half paid for.
You can read about the system here at http://www.builditsolar.com/Projects/WaterHeating/Woodsy1K/Woodsy1K.htm where i uploaded pictures and detailed the construction. Lots of other types of solar hot water systems there as well as wind and electric projects too.
