I need to saw some ash splints on my mill.  Normally I use 11/4"  & .042 lennox woodmaster C's with a 7/8 pitch.  These come preset with a pretty aggressive set. My inclination is to look for the closest pitch , a narrow set, and a .035.
I will reserve center cut 1/4 sawn boards, reference the growth rings, sandwich them up, clamp them and saw off the splints.  The blade will pull a 6" cut tops.

Looking a suffolk's blade chart I would say that an 1 1/4 X 3/4 with .019 set per side should work.  this is one of thier stock sets available.

if you go to the 7/8 pitch they say to down set them to .017 per side.
