All the double bitted axe heads that I see are 3 1/2 lbs or 2 1/2 lbs. Anyone know where I'd find a heavier one? Thanks

Ron Wenrich

Just out of curiousity, why do you need a heavier axe?  Most new axes aren't any heavier than 3 1/2 lb.

I used to have a 4 lb axe that I bought off of Ben Meadows decades ago.  I think it was a Warren axe.

There is a 4 pounder over on Ebay.

Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

I was going to ask the same question. Why a heavier one?

Sorry, I can't help it either.  Why a heavier one?  3 pounds is a lot of cutting axe, and gosh, a double ended splitting axe just don't make any sense.

I use a double bitted axe for felling(sometimes) and splitting. I've seen single bitted axes that were 5 lbs and was more or less asking out of curiousity to see if a double bit that big was made. My 3 1/2 lbs does everyting i need it to i just need to get the handle back on. Thanks

 I found A 6 pounder over at E Bay.

I've never heard of the homestead name anyone know if theyre any good?

Never heard of it - I wonder if it's a really old axe?  It sort of sounds like it from the description.  Looks like it is ground with pretty fat cheeks, but it's hard to tell.  Tough to buy something like that without picking it up first!  That's a monster axe.
