Yesterday was a different kind of day around the mill. Weather was not any different as it has been for several weeks, 97' with heat index of 106. The jobs I cut was the difference.
1. Resawed 5 -  6"X12"X24' western cedar beams to 6'X6". Used the cut and slide method as Bibbyman has posted before since the limit on mill is 21'.
2. Resawed reclaimed logs for a mantle.
3. Sawed 8X12X8 cypress mantle with 4X12 support beams.
4. Cut from white oak log, 14pcs- 3"X3 1/4"X4' 7 7/16" ; 14pcs - 3"X3 1/4"X1'  and 14pcs - 3"X3 1/4"X 5 13/16". Specialty cutting for electric motor control manufacturer. I think is it used for blocking and bracing.
5. 30 oak stakes 1 1/4 X 1 1/4 X46" for my nephew who does landscaping.
6. Sawed 12 pcs full size 2" X 8" X 12" cypress for perogla.

I guess the bottom line is, I received $575.00 for my efforts, mostly in cash. Since I work alone no labor to pay.
Today was to be a boring day cutting 2X6X12 SYP all day.  Went to work at 0530, (73 degrees) about 0930 the auto-clutch gearbox went out on mill. Called WM, new one on the way. I think I will try find an air conditioned place for a couple of days.

wwsjr, A hundred more days like that will make for a good year. :)

Good to hear all is well with you.

Just out of curiousity, do you ever cut tomato stakes?  If so, what size and charges?
Thanks.

I have never cut tomato stakes to sell. I have given away scrap from slab pile for tomato and bean sticks a few times to some of my sawing customers. I got $1.00 ea for the 46" oak stakes. Lowe's had them for $1.98.
