the detriot in it needs rebuilding, does it look like it is worth it or will i be wastin my money?

To cheap for a machine that size, there has to be major problems lurking, a machine that size can be parted out for more so there has to be a reason the want to dump it. I'd look else-ware if I were you.

Hard to say without see the machine in person. They are not asking much more than scrap price so it's not much of a risk other than time and the cost to haul it around and fix it. But in general it never pays to buy work and a place to spend money. The current owner must have already made that decision and he doesn't even have to buy it.

If it was me, I'd buy one that was running. You can't make any money fixing iron but you can make money cutting trees. Better to buy the fifth one down from that one in the listing. It runs great and can make you money. It's also listed here.

i know where theres a jd 544 with the forestery package the dirt bucket and 20 inch shear head thats looking for a new home...$20,000 or alittle less.a friend of mine owned it and used it most everyday until he got sick and passed away.
