I am not one to post needless, senseless posts let alone posts with links to silly youtube videos but this one is a very fitting song for a lot of us here.

Its from a man names Jimmy Barnes and I am sure our friends here from "down under"  know this man and the group he once belonged to called "Cold Chisel"

The song (rock, kind along the lines of Bob Seger and Bruce Springsteen) is called "Working class man", by Jimmy Barnes.  It reminds me on the small steel town I grew up in and how I used to see mom and dad wearing their hardhats after a long day at Allegheny Ludlum Steel.

I hope ya'll enjoy it as much as I do.

Actually I think that Cold Chisel was about the first real Rock Concert I ever went to, 23 Jan 1982 in New Plymouth.

Jimmy drinking vodka from the bottle between songs, people jumping in the lake and having to be hauled out by security, and a noise restriction being put on all future concerts :D

Cold Chisel is an old favourite of all Bogans and Westies here in NZ.  8)

Nope. probably about a million fans in NZ , and 5 mil in Aussie  ;D

It's just hard for Aus or NZ bands to make it big in the US. We have a music festival in Wellington each year with just NZ bands. Fantastic day, 4 stages, something for everyone. But chances are the bands are unknown outside NZ.

But we do get some US acts. Went to Pearl Jam Nov last year and we have got tickets to Metallica in October this year.

Metallica is a 30min sellout in NZ, they announced a 2nd concert before the tickets for the 1st one were offically on sale :o

Thank you Sooo much for posting that song.
Jimmy actually lived local to us for a while - Bowral.

Cold Chisel have another iconic song that some of you might aprreciate - any Vietnam Vets here?

This has pretty much become an anthem for aussie (and probably Kiwi too) Vietnam Vets;
