A friend of mine recently gave me an older Homelite saw, all the stickers are rubbed off of it and I did'nt have much luck googling the numbers. Hoping someone here is more familiar with this than I am.

The saw is red, and has a manual oiler.

As near as I can tell from pictures it is maybe a XL-12, or a SXLAO. Any help will be much appreciated.         :)  Thanks TT

Where is the oil cap?  Up front on the drive case means it is a SXL.  In back under the muffler is a XL-12.

The oil cap is on top just to the right of the top handlebar mount. Also the oil cap is small, maybe only 5/8" or 3/4" diameter. Sounds like it's a SXL?
I got it running after I posted yesterday, runs good.   :) Thanks TT

After much searching on the acresinternet site I found a saw that to me looks nearly identical it's listed as an XL automatic.   :) TT
