Just as an aside, regarding trucks...

Okay, mine is a '92 GMC V-6 half ton.

But I have been looking for a slightly used 4x2, 3/4 ton regular cab with a small V-8 to use with a slide-in camper.

As I look around I have found that ~90% of the trucks sold in the last ten years have either an extended cab or crewcab.

A regular cab is hard to find, unless it is a company vehicle that has been abused.  :(

You're right- mine is white! It's an old power company truck, so it has no frills- no A/C, no headliner, crank windows, etc. They don't put A/C in 'em because the guys will sit in the truck all day rather than get out in the FL heat. It's a short bed automatic- a tough combination to find with the straight six. Very clean truck- I could probably drive it forever.

It's a long hill and that's a Ford :D

Actually the gravel is loose, truck loses traction about half way. When we dozed the drive we didn't allow for proper drainage so it stays loose. Live and learn.

If you spread some stone dust on the top and worked it in it would pack down. The key to getting gravel to pack is to have many different sizes and not have round river gravel.

Another thing we did wrong was start with too small gravel. Should have went bigger I think then fill in with fines later.
I put the gravel down right after dozing the roads thinking the big delivery and concrete trucks would pack a nice base but because my stone was so small they just mashed them into the red clay.
Another costly lesson.
The First 70 years of childhood is always the hardest.
