This white pine log had a nice big prize inside just like a boxe of Cracker Jack.  When I hit the metal I thought I had cut the head off of the nails.  I started to dig them out but wasn't able to budge them once I got a good hold.  I kept diging till I came to the angle iron and knew it was time to break out the chain saw. Hated to do it though, I was cutting 2" X 12" floor joist from the cant and that big chunk I had to take out pretty much ruined it for the joists.  This tree was growing along side a spring house on a farm and I imagine 30 or 40 years ago they decided to run power out for a light.  This thing was about 10" to 12"  inside of the tree.

Man Jeff, with eyes like that you don't need one of those little magnifying glasses.  Mrs McClain is one of our English teachers and I'll relay your regards. :D
