Wood beetles in log home

I'm working on a log home that has been neglected for years.  Lost of holes on the exterior from beetles.  Some rot from water infiltration into the logs.  The house needs to be sealed up to prevent more rot.  Any ideas on a product to fill the many holes that doesn't look bad.  I have suggested water seal but that really won't do much with so many holes.

In jest, I recommend that you get some mud daubers.  they'll "fix" any hole, if it doesn't move around to much. :D

That's funny I actually thought about using wood colored mortar.  :)
