It has been said on here many times and I know from a friend, parts for the older John Deere skidders can be very hard to find.

ive owned both jd and tj i prefer tj because they are a simple machine. deeres are very complicated and extremly hard to work on,however i think deeres are a little easier to use. i get parts for my tj from a company called aftermarket parts i think their website is rightparts.com i believe they have a good selection of parts for deeres too.

If it has a stick shift and all the old steel Hyd lines have been changed to rubber, winch is good, motor is good, in other words take a good close look, you don't want to buy a parts machine. Look around there's lots of very good buys, i've made this mistake to many times, didn't take my time.
