I was given a sachs 120 and it fires up on the first pull when cold, runs great and has tons of compression. After a few minutes of cutting, it dies and will not restart. Even now after letting it sit a couple hours, I find it has no spark. What is the testing procedure to find the faulty component? I don't want to just start replacing parts in hopes that cures the problem, I wasn't taught to do mechanic work that way.  Many thanks for the help, and I am looking forward to being a part of the community.

I managed to kill the saw off, I had a 3 point puller attached to the three screw holes in the flywheel, and instead of the flywheel coming off, the tip if the crankshaft broke off, and the threads are now so boogered I cannot start the nut on it even without the flat washers that are supposed to go between the nut and the flywheel. Looks like I now have a junk saw, unless I can find a good crank for it and somebody has an easy idea how to remove the flywheel ....
