my brother had a chance to pick up a 2156/18",520.00 w/2 skip chains.the H.P. and weight of the saw seems impressive.  we know nothing about these saws,is this a good pro saw. are there known problems with this model? one of the local dealers is having a big end of the season sale.this is our new echo dealer he is trying to get him to try one.  any and all input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

make sure it is not an older model with the walbro carb and the plastic intake clamp. these are know problems with these saws and there are service bulletins that address both. otherwise, it is a nice saw, very comparable to a 361

Husky's and Jony-red's are the only two saws the pro-loggers use around here.

i had a 2156 and traded it for my 2171, because i started cutting 28"+ poplar sawlogs and needed more power. jonsered makes a great saw

thats an awsome saw. make sure it has the blue button decomp. if it has a black thing with a hose coming out of it there. thats the autodecomp. notorious for failing. get it replaced with a blue button.

What was the recall for?
