Heres the deal. I bought this CD off of fleabay and it came with over 60 of the more modern model Stihl IPB's (Illustrated Parts Breakdown). Who on here would want any. I know people are worried about the copyright infringement that is on the first page of the Service Manuals, but these do not have those... I will post exactly what models i have tomorrow. I hope to share with you all!  :P

The new Stihl Mediacat catalogues on cds (and now on dvds) have something that lets the program on the cd work only for six months. After that you will get a message telling the program has expired and that you need the new cd.
You might be able to use Win Explorer to open the cd and view its contents.
The pdf files in the Resources folder are useful, if you can figure out what each one is about.
But viewing the Tif images of the catalog will drive you nuts.

If the cd is of  pre-2001 it is the older Electronic Media catalog which does not have this problem. But part numbers have changed quite a lot.So that is a major stumbling block.

you are mistaken on that. This is from the manual in the  current cd.

All of the IPB's/IPL's are in PDF... I don't know if they are older, I am just willing to "spread the wealth" the IPB's/IPL's I have are:

I also have these service manuals:
009/010/011, 017/018, 019, 020T, 021/023/025, 024/026, 034/036/036 QS, 046, 088, these are all "MS" 210/230/250, 270, 290/310/390, 341/361, 440, 460. I also have the 029/039, 044, 064/066, but they are way to big for me to email...over 30 megs!

I also have these misc. manuals:
Oregon Chain Manual, Stihl Bar & Chain Manual, Stihl Bar & Chain Manual 6th ED., Stihl Carburetor, Stihl Chainsaw Setup Information, Stihl Special Tool Manual.

MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDLE AN EMAIL ADDRESS or I will not be able to send it/them!!!!!!

Joe

Mine is dated 2007 and never have had a problem. Mine also has the service manuals  ;)

Also, if you want, I will burn and send you a CD (only to the US). I am not going to charge for the content of the CD as that would be copyright infringement, but for the CD itself and shipping from Afghanistan...probably around $5 I will let you know on an individual basis. There might be a super small flat rate box, but I need to check. I am deployed right now. I have already sent a few IPL's to people. There is no catch here, just sharing with good people!

ok, last offer before this thread dies...if you want, send me a blank cd in a padded envelope and i will return your disk with all of my stihl manuals on it. i just found out that shipping small envelopes back to the states is free for me. here is an example: i just got an envelope from a gentleman in with a blank cd, it only cost him $1.73 to ship it to me from oregon to afghanistan. so the only cost incrued is how much it cost you to ship me your blank cd... PM for address  8)

Stihls: 440R, 361, 360, 310, 260, 211, 020T. Husky: 372xt.
I ship Stihl saws down under: message me for details.

boobap

ok, i have sent hundreds of these now, i need help...any one have the IPB/IPL or service manual for a MS650?

Rocky_J

Same as the 660 except for a smaller jug and piston. I have the 660 IPL if you'd like it.

Cut4fun

If your CD is like mine you probably are showing the MS640 and MS660 right?  Like Rocky said on the 650, what else you needing to know?

boobap

i need to replace all of the fuel/oil/impulse lines...so they are the same as the 660? i am sure this has been covered, but if the only difference between the two is the jug and slug...then i can turn my 650 into a 660 and get those few extra CC's? thanks all!!!  8)

Cut4fun

Thats how I understand it.

This is from JJ.  According to the technical release on the 650, it will use the same cylinder and piston as the 064/640 although will be "Optimized", meaning a different Nicasil coating matrix and the piston will be made from the newer alloys like the optimized 460 and 660 cylinder and pistons, and the case will be the same as the 660, so you could make it into a 660 at some later time if needed.

Rocky_J

Stihl only released the 650 to fill a price point. Although it baffles me why they needed a 'price point' between the 460 and 660. Maybe to compare to the Husky 385 or 390? Who knows.

Refer to the 660 IPL for parts numbers though. And yes, a piston and jug swap will give you a 660.

windthrown

I never understood the 650. Same weight but 10% less power... for a few bucks less???

Or in some cases the same price. Amicks lists the 650 and the 660 both at a grand each.

I would think it was for getting past the EPA BS or some other regulation.

i got a smoking deal-y-o on it...was not gonna pass it up ($300)! if i like it, it may replace my 440 because i also got a 361, not sure yet. once i get out of this sh%* hole, and get to play with them i will make that determination...although one thing is forsure...i got a 260 to replace my 250  8) my wife got a little long distance *pithed at me when it showed up at the house unannounced, but it was a lateral move as far a the price went i told her  ;D which was mostly true. i figured i should be able to get right around $200 for the 250 and i paid $275 for 260...sshhh  :D  i do have a question for all of the old timers out there, but it does not belong here, i will start a new thread.

Cut4fun

John having some fun with his bargain priced stihl 650 too. Nothing wrong with that, I would do the same thing.

peppone, i need you to either tell me which ones you want, or send me a cd in a padded envelope with a blank cd in it. pm for address if you want it...

Warbird

boobap, I'm looking for service manuals for my 361c (I think it's a "c", it has the quick caps on it) and my 270c.  Do you have them available and are they small enough to email?  If so, I'll PM you my email address.

boobap

Warbird,

I do have the manual and IPL for your 361 and 270. It is not a "C", but most of the information you will need it will have. I believe that "C" annotates the quick chain adjustment. I don't know for sure, but I always thought that it wasn't available on Pro models...If I am wrong, I apologize. Shoot me your email.
