261 vs 262xp

what is the difference of the 2 . i looked up specs found none on the 261 thanks

I've never heard of either model. 'xp' is a Husky designation for their pro models but the 2xx series was replaced with the 3xx series back in the late '80s or early '90s.

On the other hand, are you possibly asking about the Stihl MS361 which is being replaced with the MS362 currently?

I will let Sawtroll go into it all. Yes the 261 and  262xp. The 261 had a dished piston and de-tuned version of the 262. Some other differences too, like clutch etc.

I also own a 262xp.

Still didnt run to bad considering the freaking cylinder was falling off and I was wondering  why it was running lean   smiley_idea

I think Lowes still sells the Husky 235. Every one I,ve been in has about 50 of them in stock.  Sells for $209 or $219 or somewhere in that bracket.
