That's an impressive piece of machinery!
Probably wouldn't take long to pay for itself either.

It's getting to the point where firewood is the way to go!

Is it compulsory to drop all big logs onto oil drums before loading ???
A very wise man once told me . Grand children are great, we should have had them first

Thats impressive.  Doesn't look terribly fast, at least compare to some of the firewood processors at Sawlex.  I guess it makes up for speed with the huge log capacity.  Wonder what it costs?  I would call and ask but don't speak german :D

I'm really not too impressed with that either.

How many logs around are that large anyways?

It seems slow.

There's a fine line between turning firewood into beautiful things and beautiful things into firewood.

fat hairy deal...someone still has to come back and split the stuff it just split...

for my money, mount the grapple on a a trailer to move the logs ut of the woods so they cam be processed wholesale...

It actually looks like two of the off road drilling rig drive units I have. One was for a 2.5" and the other for a 3.5" auger. Self propelled, low profile. The units where used for enviro testing I believe, and I stripped off the auger drives and misc. mechanicals. I want to use them as self powered off road log recovery vehicals. One is 32" wide 4x4 w/ outriggers, I want to put inverted "roller" arches and have smallish crane on the end to lift the log onto the rollers.

You could eat lunch while that thing was cutting. And who is going to resplit that wood. That isn't what most customers want to see in their driveways.

Way to slow for me. I'll bet it's pricy it's german made. Lots of hydraulics and after it's done the real work begins resplitting those big blocks. I'll stick with my Multitek. It'll split up to 23" dia logs and then it takes a couple more times through the 6 way splitter to get to the right size. As for not taking to long to pay for itself. Don't you believe it I know what it took to pay for my machine. If I were to buy my machine today it is more than 3 times what I paid 18 years ago. Even at 200.00 a cord you'll beat yourself to death trying to pay for it and make a living above that.
