Solar kiln collector angle

It it worth adding 10 degrees to the collector angle for better winter performance? I am right at the 45 parallel so I was planning to add 10 degrees to the VA Tech plans for better winter performance. Will this hurt summer performance?

Winter performance for that design is poor at best in winter...at least in north Missouri were I built my kiln.  Just far too many cloudy and cold days to do much drying.  I would follow the guidelines for optimum summer performance.
