So it seems that my combustion air is only getting delivered on the right side. I cleaned the air holes and yet the fire doesn't seem to be burning on that side still. Anyone else had this problem? Has anyone figured out how to get inside the air system so it can be completely cleaned?

My best advice is to check the upper and  lower selenoid elbows in the back of the unit. My guess is you have a creosote blockage from the back of the unit(above fan) to the air holes. As far as getting to the inside  of the air chamber along the sides of the area where wood is placed, I don't think that is possible. After I removed quite a bit of creosote from the elbows, the air flow was reestablished.I am assuming you have removed ash from the back of the unit where the turbulators are located and also cleaned out the reaction chamber.
