That is very creative of you!  Do these new tips last any longer than the other ones or about the same?

Jeff

They actually will last longer, because I make then a bit longer and can simply stick them back in the drill and reshape the end as it wears down. I've found that I can make bits that allow me to do finer detail work with less effort. I can sharpen a point to be almost needle like for ultra fine detail.  As of yet, I have not done anything constructive with the new points that require it, other then messing around seeing what they will do. The three works above were all done with the new homemade tips.

I've got enough for 300 more projects. I'm sure I'll be losing time and interest here when the weather breaks, so I'm good to go for awhile on that.

Wow!  That fish one is awesome.

Jeff

I liked doing the sunfish so much, that tonight I decided to do a trout. Its probably about time I get back to the logging theme pretty soon though.  :)

Got back in the swing of things today after everyone here being sick for so long. Stacy was in the Hospital for the better part of 4 days, but came home today. I worked outside most of the day, then came in to listen to the final four games and woodburn for a while to relax.

Got this thing for fish lately. :) Another Turn & Burn production. :)

Walleye!  Best tasting DanG fish there is.

Very nice, Boss.

Nope, not walleye, but still one of the best tasting fish there is.  Lake Perch.  Smaller without teeth.

Or a fresh sea run Atlantic out of the Restigouche or Mirimachi River. Get the fry pan out and butter and fish batter.  ;D

Jeff

Hi Tim, if you look back at some posts earlier in the thread, I posted a photo of my burner, and I think describe a bit how I go about it.

That's funny! :D :D I guess what I was getting at was you have to catch the salmon then smoke them.  Never the less they are good.

I finished another turn and burn logging themed wood burning this week. This one seemed to take a lot longer then any other I had done, as I worked on and off on it for 4 days. I guess because of all of the figures. Its nerve racking doing faces because it only takes a little hiccup to screw the whole thing up.
