Jeff

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed time be it with family or friends or home or away.

That's the contest. simply post here with your season's greetings and you are in the drawing for the last of the Forestry Forum Jelly packs.  I know the gift isn't much, but they are a big part of Tammy and I. Fruit picked from an area of the country we love and made in to Jelly to give to people that mean the most to us.

Merry Christmas everyone.  :)

I wish everyone on the forum a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. This also applies to those just reading the forum.

The Jellies may not be much but they are something you cannot go out and get in the store. Kind of like the candy my wife's aunt makes and gives away at Christmas. I always look forward to it even though my wife makes candy also. I seem to like these gifts as they are something special. My Grandmother used to make jellies and jams, and believe me you cannot buy it in the store.

The jellies are a wonderfull gift and I'm truly glad I'll get to partake. I think the biggest gift from you and Tammy is the community of friends you have made possible for us. Merry Christmas to all and a happy, prosperous New Year.

I'll barely get to be home for Christmas this year. I get to the airport about 10:00 Christmas night. First time I've been home for it in years.

This past year has been my toughest ever and the friends that I have made here have helped me through it. Thanks Jeff and Tammy for your hard work and patience in providing this place where we may converse, argue, share stories, give advice ,and enjoy each others company, just like a family group should.

Jelly gets a bum wrap when it comes to sugar, yes, a batch of Jelly has a lot of sugar in it, but a normal serving of Jelly is really rather low in calories. In two tablespoons, only about 35 to 50 calories. Sugar itself only has 15 calories per tsp.

Congrats OWW!  Let us know how the jelly tastes.  We are getting into making jams/jellies and doing some canning of fish and other stuff.  It is a lot of work but sure pays off.

OneWithWood

Whooo-hooo! 8) 8)

Thank you Jeff and Tammy.  I don't care how many calories (or carbs for that matter) are in the jellies.  The jelly will get the same treatment my single malts get.  Treated with a certain reverance and every bite will be savored for its taste and the knowledge that some really cool people were involved producing the product  :)

Anytime Danny.
Be forwarned that we only have a one bedroom house so you might want to snag a hotel room in Bloomington.
I do have about a dozen white pines scattered throughout the property so maybe you could finagle a business trip out of it  ;)  Maybe write a paper on the care and nurturing of accidental white pine generation in an uneven aged mixed hardwood stand.  Maybe bring Dodgy along as a research assistant.   :P

I suspect the jellies won't last much beyond New Year's  :D

If I come up and bring Dodgy as my research assistant, and if he brings his assistant along as well, she will be the assistant research assistant :) ;D.
